Carmen Gil Vrolijk

Carmen Gil Vrolijk is a transdisciplinary artist, curator, and theorist working at Colombia’s University of the Andes. Her career spans multimedia creation since the late 1990s, with particular focus on large-scale experimental and immersive performing arts projects.
She serves as artistic director of La Quinta del Lobo and founded RETA.HEX, a network of technodiversities and hybrid and expanded arts. Her curatorial work includes the VOLTAJE exhibition series (2014–2023), which focused on art, science, and technology.
Her work encompasses stage and opera productions, video mapping, and fulldome projects. Her portfolio spans international venues across the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Her scholarly interests emphasize expanded narratives and the poetics of technology within performing arts contexts.
