About DEL
DEL is an international conference and webinar series exploring emerging topics in art, design, and higher education and is a place for creative and critical practices.
The acronym DEL originally stood for “Digitally Engaged Learning” and “Designs on eLearning.” As of 2025, D, E, and L function as flexible placeholders representing concepts like design, dream, disrupt, evolve, experience, envision, live, lead, and launch. This shift broadens the conference’s scope beyond digital technology to encompass community engagement, interdisciplinary teaching, sustainability, inclusive pedagogies, and discussions around AI.
International Reach
The conference has welcomed participants from 20+ countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, and United States.
Partner Institutions
Over 60 universities have participated, including MIT Media Lab, Yale University, Royal College of Art, Columbia College Chicago, Parsons (The New School), Pratt Institute, and international institutions from Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
